Walter Helin (at age 19) and Irene Loechler (at age 15) were the biological parents of Norma Schultz. Walter was not 21 and his parents refused to consent to Walter marrying Irene. Amanda Urness, Norma's grandmother was raising her since Irene was so young. Amanda died in 1930 when Norma was only four years old. Irene called her aunt Juliet and uncle Fred and sent Norma to live with them. Juliet and Fred adopted Norma and raised her.
