NewsOK.com - Katherine Ann Eckart, 86, of Midwest City, Oklahoma, died Thursday, March 23, 2006 in Norman. Katherine was born August 18th, 1919, in Subiaco, Arkansas to Henry and Mary Jasper. She married her husband, Albert J. Eckart January 26th, 1945 and moved to Midwest City in 1960. She was a devoted Navy wife, loving mother, and wonderful grandmother. For several years she worked at Tinker AFB. She was a long-time member of the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church of Midwest City. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert J. Eckart, her parents, Henry and Mary (Schmalz) Jasper; a brother Anton Jasper, and a sister Mary Lucille McElhannon. A wake service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2006 at the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church followed by burial at Arlington Memory Gardens in Midwest City, under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home of Del City. Mrs. Eckart is survived by son William Eckart and his wife Vickie; son David Eckart of Norman, and his wife Cindy; two sisters, Marie Van den Houk of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Frances Buksas of Springfield, Missouri; one brother, Eugene Jasper of Paris, Arkansas; grandchildren: Bethany, Sarah, and Jeffrey Eckart, of Mustang, Oklahoma, and Matthew and Erin Eckart, of Norman, Oklahoma. The family wishes to thank Dr. Tom Merrill, the staff of Brookhaven Extensive Care, and Valir Hospice for their loving care.
